On the morning of May 21, the inauguration ceremony of Zhuquan Fund of School of Marxism, Zhejiang University Education Foundation was held on Zijingang Campus. On behalf of the University, Ren Shaobo, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of the Education Foundation, presented a certificate of honor to the donor, and Huang Xianhai, Vice President of the University, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
Initiated and first donated by Wang Yongchang, former Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Congress and Chair Professor of Zhejiang University, “Zhuquan Fund” was also donated by Mr. Wang Xingyi, Sunyard Technology Co. Ltd., Zhejiang Jianran Materials Co., Ltd., Guangda Holdings Co., Ltd., Jinhua Shouxiangu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Xinde Import & Export Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Das Security Foundation and Zhejiang Fute Assets Management Co., Ltd. Collectively. “Zhuquan Fund” is used to commend the outstanding students and teachers from School of Marxism and the major of Marxist Philosophy at College of Humanities, to guide the teachers to study how to give wonderful ideological and political courses, deepen the research on Marxist theory, conduct good education on Marxist theory, apply Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era into student cultivation with virtue, so as to guide the students of Marxist theory and Marxist philosophy to be highly qualified innovative talents and leaders with global competitiveness who are well-rounded morally, intellectually, physically, aesthetically and in community service and who are dedicated to socialist modernization.
On behalf of the University, Vice President Huang Xianhai expressed his gratitude to the donors. He said that the “Zhuquan Fund” showed our unanimous wish to be dedicated to the Party and to tell the stories of China’s development in the new era, and it also conveyed our best wishes to the birthday of Zhejiang University and School of Marxism. He added that all the donors have long been supportive of the reform and progress of School of Marxism, demonstrating their patriotism and social commitment to education and public welfare, and setting norms for life, study and working. He hoped that School of Marxism would treasure the generous donation, apply the gratitude into actions, repay the support from all walks of life with high-quality progress and that students and teachers would make more efforts to be involved in the socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
Professor Wang Yongchang said, “University drives human and social progress, and Marxism-related disciplines are very important disciplines, so Zhuquan Fund not only expresses our firm belief in Marxism, but also is a way for me as an alumnus to repay the cultivation of my alma mater. I hope we can share our knowledge and ability with more people and exert more strength.
