On July 15, the inauguration ceremony of the Center for the Study on Xi Jinping’s Rule-of-Law Thought of Zhejiang University and the opening ceremony of the first Seminar on Xi Jinping’s Rule-of-Law Thought were held in Beijing, during which a donation ceremony was held for the “Qibang Fund” of Zhejiang University Education Foundation from Xinhu Charity Foundation. Those present at the Ceremony included Ren Shaobo, Secretary of the CP Committee, Chairman of Education Foundation, President Wu Zhaohui, Zhang Wenxian, Senior Professor of Liberal Arts and President of Beijing Research Institute, Xu Qingsen, Director of Social Science Department of Ministry of Education, Huang Wei, Chairman of Xinhu Charity Foundation, Lin Junbo, Chairman of Zhejiang Xinhu Group Co., Ltd., Prof. Lei Pingsheng from Beijing Union Medical College Hospital, Director of Xinhu Charity Foundation, Ye Zhengmeng, Secretary General of Xinhu Charity Foundation. The Ceremony was chaired by Huang Xianhai, Vice President of Zhejiang University.
The donation of 5 million yuan to the Qibang Fund of Zhejiang University Education Foundation from the Xinhu Charity Foundation aims at facilitating Zhejiang University to recruit distinguished scholars and professionals with remarkable academic achievements worldwide, highlight major national strategic layout and badly-needed research, and work for the modernization of national governance system and governance capacity. Ren Shaobo presented the donation certificate and nameplate to Huang Wei.
Lin Junbo said in his speech that Zhejiang University has taken the initiative to align with and serve the major national strategies and made great progress in many fields in recent years. As an alumnus of Zhejiang University, he is honored to be of some use to the progress of his alma mater, and it is also his hope that Beijing Research Institute of Zhejiang University will reap more research results in the spirit of seeking truth, and promote the rule of law, market economy system, and social civilization for the new era.
On behalf of the University, Vice President Huang Xianhai expressed his gratitude to the Xinhu Charity Foundation. He said that the foresight and strong sense of social responsibility of the Xinhu Group is impressive and this donation once again reflects the mission of the Group in empowering national development and boosting public happiness.
The inauguration ceremony of Center for the Study on Xi Jinping’s Rule-of-Law Thought of Zhejiang University, the appointment ceremony of Special-Term Research Fellows and Contract Research Fellows of the Institute of State Systems of Zhejiang University were held concurrently. Wu Zhaohui granted the appointment letter of Part-time Professor of Zhejiang University to Prof. Li Lin, and Prof. Zhang Wenxian delivered a keynote speech “Research Path and Method of Xi Jinping’s Rule-of-Law Thought”.
