On August 9, Xiang Guangda, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TsingshanIndustry paid a visit to Zhejiang University with his delegation and held adonation ceremony of Tsingshan Charity Foundation to Zhejiang UniversityEducation Foundation. Wu Zhaohui, President of Zhejiang University met withXiang Guangda and his delegation.
President Wu Zhaohui extended his gratitude to Tsingshan Group for its support andintroduced the discipline system, major category and development goal ofZhejiang University, etc. Xiang Guangda introduced the culture of TsingshanGroup and the establishment of Tsingshan Business School. Both sides exchangesideas on talent cultivation and cooperation.
During the ceremony, Dong Lingmin, Chairman of Tsingshan Charity Foundation, donatedan education fund to Zhejiang University Education Foundation on behalf ofTsingshan Group to support students of School of Materials Science andEngineering and College of Energy Engineering to study in world-classuniversities. Wu Xiaocheng, Deputy Secretary of Zhejiang University CPCCommittee, accepted the donation on behalf of Zhejiang University and issuedcertificate and nameplate to Tsingshan Charity Foundation.
Wu Xiaocheng claimed that the open, embracing and liberal ideas of corporate operationof the Group coincides with the philosophy of ZJU. ZJU strives to be one of theworld’s top universities through its arduous efforts, which is the ambition ofZJU as well as the requirement of China.
Xiang Guangda stated that an enterprise should rely on the next generation, insteadof on single product output, to achieve higher efficiency and greater speed. TsingshanGroup, with its responsibility of supporting Zhejiang Province and ZhejiangUniversity, hopes more talents can develop well through better educationalopportunities and platforms.
On the same day, Xiang Guangda and his delegation also paid a visit to the Museum ofHistory and Science and Technology Museum of Zhejiang University to learn abouthistory and culture.
