It's always said graduation is nowhere in the future, while we often part in aninstant.

Every year, over 10,000 students graduate from Zhejiang University and go to everycorner of China. This year, the alma mater prepares a special gift forgraduates--a graduation commemorative seal.

This gift is from an alumnus Jiang Sihai, General Manager of Zhejiang MeishiCultural Creative Co., Ltd.

This seal, though small, is imbued with the deep care of alumni and ZhejiangUniversity to graduates. Made of Changhua Stone, one of “Four Famous Stones” inChina, it embodies Chinese culture and the quintessence of seeking truth ofZhejiang University.

Ren Shaobo, Secretary of Zhejiang University CPC Committee, maintained that as asymbol of the identity, culture and faith of ZJU, this seal will inspiregraduates to carry forward the conviction and aspiration of “descendant oftruth-seeking Zhejiang University” and serve China with their actions. Thisseal is also the link among Hangzhou, ZJU and alumni. Adhering to the cardinal taskof enhancing morality and fostering talents, ZJU will make new contributions toa world-class university with Chinese characteristics as well as the Chinesedream of national rejuvenation.

Jiang Sihai responded, as a century-old university, ZJU cultivates a large number oftalents for the society every year, which remains an integral component of theculture of Hangzhou. Changhua Stone is not only a precious and rare stone, butcontains the value of national stone culture. It is something meaningful tointegrate national stone culture with Zhejiang University as well as thequintessence of seal and seeking truth. He felt very honored to present a gift tograduates.

Luo Weidong, Vice President of ZJU said the University has attached importance tocampus culture, the philosophy of seeking truth and innovation, and building acommunity for common development among ZJU, the government and alumni. The sealwith rich Chinese cultural connotation and the quintessence of seeking truth isindispensable for the overall activities of cultural construction. He is verygrateful to all parties for their support of cultural construction.

Wu Xiaocheng, Deputy Secretary of ZJU CPC Committee, received the special gift onbehalf of Zhejiang University. Li Saiwen, Member of the Standing Committee ofCPC Committee and Minister of Publicity of Lin’an District was also present.

Years may pass before they meet again next time, while they’ll never forget why theystarted. A galaxy of the graduates of Zhejiang University are expected torealize their aspirations in the quintessence of seeking truth with this seal.Zhejiang University will always be on their side.
