On the eve of 122ndanniversary of Zhejiang University on May 19, PAN Fangren, Member of the Board,paid a visit to Zhejiang University with a delegation and REN Shaobo, Secretaryof the CPC Committee of Zhejiang University met with them. The both sides hadin-depth discussions on the development of Zhejiang University for over 120years and the goal of “Double First-Class” Initiative. LUO Weidong, VicePresident, SHEN Liyong, Director of Development and Liaison Office as well asZHANG Meifeng, Vice Chairman of Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship,Zhejiang University were also present.

After extending welcome to PAN Fangrenand his delegation, REN Shaobo made a report on the achievements of ZhejiangUniversity in talents cultivation, scientific research, innovation and entrepreneurshipin recent years, and further introduced the medium- and long-term developmentplan and vision of the construction of “Double First-Class” Initiative. Heexpressed, at a new start, Zhejiang University strives to make newaccomplishments in the new era, and contribute its wisdom and strength inbuilding a world-class university and realizing the Chinese dream of greatnational rejuvenation with support from members of the Board, alumni and elitesof all walks of life.

After the meeting, the delegationparticipated in the trial opening of Zhejiang University Museum of Art andArchaeology, exchanged ideas with Vice Curator LOU Kecheng and visited manyexhibitions. They spoke highly of the University in cultural inheritance, arthistory research and related disciplinary construction.

In addition, the delegation paid a visitto the First Affiliated Hospital of Medical School of Zhejiang University.

LIANG Tingbo, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the First AffiliatedHospital of Medical School, accompanied the delegation with a leadership teamof the hospital. During their visit, he gave a detailed report on thedevelopment and changes of PAN Fangren Branch of the Hospital in recent years,and extended gratitude to Mr. PAN Fangren for his charity. The continuousprogress in the hospital and disciplinary development was highly recognized bythe delegation.
