On April 12, Prof. ZHU Jianmei, VicePresident of Southwest Jiaotong University paid a visit to Zhejiang Universitywith her three colleagues. LUO Weidong, Vice President of Zhejiang Universitymet with the guests in Conference Room 412 of the Nano Building and the twosides held discussions on their foundations, alumni associations and localcooperation.

LUO Weidong first extended his welcomeand gave a detailed introduction to the current situation of the Foundation,the Alumni Association and local cooperation. He said every university needsstrong resources for its development, which was inseparable from the support ofalumni and all walks of life. During years of development, Zhejiang Universityhas gradually developed university-oriented liaison and made achievements.However, there’s still room for improvement in project planning and management,alumni database, targeted services for alumni, development and liaison system,etc. He hoped to work with other colleges and universities for a successfulmodel of foundations and alumni associations with Chinese characteristics.

ZHU Jianmei expressed her gratitude toZhejiang University for warm reception and commended Zhejiang University on itsrapid progresses in recent years, with innovations in the operation offoundation and alumni association. She spoke highly of the ideas andexperiences shared by LUO Weidong and thought the approaches and experience areworth learning from. She expected to deepen further cooperation of the twosides in more areas.
