Bringing together all sides and makingcontributions to education. The Open Day Activities of Off-Campus Scholarshipswere held on Zijingang Campus on December 31, 2018 to express gratitude tophilanthropic organizations and institutions, which was no only a happy momentfor them, but a fine tradition of Zhejiang University Education Foundation formany years.
The most important part was the ceremonyof awarding excellent students of Zhejiang University of 2017-2018 academicyear. Zou Xiaodong, Secretary of the CPC Committee said in his speech that thephilanthropic acts of those units will surely bring more charity from thesociety and inspire the students and teachers to forge ahead. ZhejiangUniversity will make greater achievements to repay the encouragement andsupport from its alumni, the society and others.
At the ceremony, Prof. He Lianzhen, VicePresident of Zhejiang University, read the list of scholarship winners. 49off-campus scholarships with a total amount of over 8.2 million yuan weregranted to 1446 students. Some student representatives later offered flowers tothe units.
Ye Jianping, Chairman and GeneralManager of Ningbo Runhe High-tech New Materials Co., Ltd., delivered a speechas a representative. He expressed his congratulations to the recipient studentsand his appreciation to Zhejiang University for offering a platform tocultivate talents and to award excellent ones. He also encouraged them to moveforward, to learn and to achieve with modesty, prudence and perseverance.Finally he expected them to be ambitious and shoulder more responsibilities.
Those off-campus organizations thenvisited the Museum of ZJU History, Science and Technology Museum of ZhejiangUniversity, participated in the reception and had in-depth discussions ontalent cultivation, even with recipient students that day.
This year, a total number of 26 unitswere invited. Present at the ceremony were Luo Weidong, Vice-President ofZhejiang University, Hu Wei, Assistant to ZJU President and Secretary-Generalof the Education Foundation, Shen Liyong, Director of the Development &Liaison Office, leaders of the Student Affairs Department, Graduate AffairsDepartment, Employment Guidance and Service Center and of the CPC Committee andsome colleges.
