A Delegation of the HK Seagull Scholarship Limited Visiting Zhejiang University

OnNov. 23, a delegation of the HK Seagull Scholarship Limited led by ChairmanPaul Lo and Honorary Chairman Ko Yuet Ming visited Zhejiang University. Prof.Luo Weidong, Vice President of Zhejiang University gave them a warm welcome andexpected further cooperation between them.

Prof.Luo introduced the profile of Zhejiang University and the achievements it hasmade in talent training, scientific research and social practice. He alsoexpressed his thanks to them for their continuous support of ZhejiangUniversity.

Then,Paul Lo extended his appreciation to Zhejiang University for its hospitalityand introduced the founding and basic situation of HK Seagull ScholarshipLimited. Honorary Chairman Ko Yuet Ming said that, as a person of ZhejiangProvince origin, is attached to Zhejiang University and proud of having such afirst-class university in his hometown. He promised he would take what he sawand experienced back to HK and try his best to attract more support to ZhejiangUniversity, so more exchanges and cooperation can be expected. Both sides laterconducted in-depth discussions about education and student assistance.

Thedelegation also visited the Museum of ZJU History. Those present at thereception included Li Peipei, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang University DevelopmentCommittee, Hu Wei, Assistant to ZJU President and Secretary-General of theEducation Foundation, and representatives of the Student Affairs Department,Graduate Affairs Department of the CPC Committee and the Development &Liaison Office, ZJU.

HK Seagull ScholarshipLimited, a non-government charity organization initiated in 1999 by Paul Lo,former Standing Deputy Director and current Standing Advisor to the Chamber ofCommerce of Hong Kong Toy Limited, was headed by Mr. Li Zhiyuan, former DeputySecretary-General of the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government and sponsoredby Hong Kong entrepreneurs and people from all walks of life. It aims atmotivating students in poor areas to learn how to be brave and courageous likeseagulls and to study hard to be useful members of the nation and the society.
