On October 8, 2018, Jin Leqi, Honorary President and Bian Yiping, President of Association of Xiaoshan Townsmen in Hong Kong as well as Meir Buber, a representative of Tel Aviv University of Israel, paid a visit to Zhejiang University. Xu Miaofa, Deputy Director of United Front Department, Xiaoshan District, visited too. Prof. LuoWeidong, Vice President of Zhejiang University, met with them.  

Prof. Luo Weidong conveyed his warm welcome to the guests and his appreciation to Mr. Jin and Mr. Bian for their continuous support of Zhejiang University. He then expressed his hope for more exchanges and cooperation between ZJU and Israeli universities in personnel training, research, social practice and so on.

Mr. Jin Leqi and Mr. Bian Yiping extended their gratitude for the hospitality by ZJU, and hoped to create more exchange opportunities to help young students broaden their horizon, acquire knowledge, learn advanced concepts from abroad and understand the unique culture of different countries. Mr. Meir Buber gave a brief introduction to Tel Aviv University and expressed his desire to establish lasting and in-depth cooperation with ZJU.

The guests also visited the History Museum, Science and Technology Museum of Zhejiang University and Yuquan Branch of Zhejiang University Library. Mr. Jin Leqi donated RMB 1 million yuan in 1997 to help set up the Jin’s Humanities Fund and Zhejiang University named the Humanities Reading Room of Yuquan Branch, ZJU Library “Runquan Room” after thename of his grandfather in recognition of his great deed.

Hu Wei, Assistant to President of ZJU and Director of Development & Liaison Office, as well as the representatives of International Relations, School of Management, Undergraduate School and ZJU Library were present at the activity.
