On September 17, 2018, the ceremony featuringthe donation of Mr. Ye Tianhui, President of Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce, Mexicoto Zhejiang University Education Foundation rounded off at the Alumni Buildingof Zijingang Campus. Present at the ceremony were President Ye Tianhui and Mrs.Zheng Xiaolian, his wife, Hu Wei, Assistant to President of ZhejiangUniversity, Liu Youshi, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs of UndergraduateSchool, Xu Baomin, Deputy Director of Policy Research Office, Chen Feng,Director at General Office of International Scholars and Students Exchange,International Relations and the teachers from Development & Liaison Officeand China’s Institute of Science, Technology and Education Policy. The ceremonywas hosted by Gu Yulin, Deputy Secretary General of Education Foundation.   

The donation from President Ye Tianhui isfor “China-Mexico Education and Cultural Exchange Fund of Zhejiang University”.While its principal is kept, annual earnings are for supporting undergraduatesto study in Mexico. The fund not only complements the exchange programs to Mexico,but opens a new chapter in our exchange with Latin America. Mr. Hu Weipresented the honorary certificate of donation and commemorative plate of ZJUto President Ye Tianhui.

At the ceremony, Mr. Hu Wei conveyed hissincere thanks to President Ye and Madame Ye, and his hopes for more exchangesand cooperation between ZJU and Mexico in personnel training, research, socialpractice and so on. President Ye said the donation this time was only a start-upfund; more support would be offered and further cooperation would be expected.Liu Youshi also expressed her heartfelt thanks to President Ye for hiskindness, and her promise for supporting student exchange programs, laying asolid foundation for the future friendly exchanges between ZJu and Mexicanuniversities.

After the ceremony, President Ye andMadame Ye visited the History Museum, Science and Technology Museum of ZhejiangUniversity.
