On the afternoon of June 9, the ceremony for the donation of World Future Foundation to Zhejiang University Education Foundation to establish Future Information & Technology Research Center at College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang University was held on Zijingang Campus. The Center will promote the fundamental research on block chains, big data, cloud computing and the cultivation of talents in new information technology.           

Wu Zhaohui, President of Zhejiang University, met with Feng Lun, Chairman of World Future Foundation and President of F&E Capital, Wang Haiguang, President of Vanke Narada RealEstate Co., Ltd. and Wang Dejian, Vice Chairman of World Future Foundation. Luo Weidong, Vice President of Zhejiang University signed a donation agreement with Feng Lun on behalf of donors and issued a donation certificate and commemorative plate to Wang Dejian. Feng Lun, Xiao Feng, President of Wan xiang Blockchain, Wang Haiguang, Tian Ye, Director of World Future Foundation, Prof. Luo Weidong and Chen Gang, Dean of College of Computer Science and Technology, jointly unveiledthe Future Information & Technology Research Center.           

Wu Zhaohui expressed his gratitude to World Future Foundation for its generous donation and introduced the history of Zhejiang University in 121 years. He said it is an inevitable trend for education to go global, so colleges and universities need to poolresources via open education. Meanwhile, colleges and universities should focuson the future and tackle the common challenges facing the world with rich comprehensive advantages of disciplines.

At the signing ceremony, Luo Weidong said that the benevolence of World Future Foundation, embodying theentrepreneurs’ commitment to social responsibility, will play a positive rolein frontier technology research and development and improving independent innovation of College of Computer Science and Technology.

Feng Lun said the Foundation has long supported universities to carry out studies of sustainable development. The joint establishment of the Center aims to create an open and international high-end academic research platform for scientific research and personneltraining.           

The signing ceremony waschaired by Mr. Hu Wei, Assistant to ZJU President. After the ceremony, Feng Lun, with his team, visited the History Museum of Zhejiang University.           

The persons in charge of the Party Committee Office, the President Office, Department of Publicity of the CPC Committee, the Development & Liaison Office and College of Computer Scienceand Technology were also present.
